Two weeks in a row now I've been able to submit to Flash Friday.
Here is the picture.
The hint word was "freedom." I chose that as my title.
Freedom.
Fresh air. Green spaces. Flowing water.
Freedom.
A park teeming with life. Courting
teenagers experiencing their first kiss. Twenty-somethings engaged in
a spirited Frisbee football match. Young parents pushing babies in
strollers, while their toddlers attempt to perfect the art of
walking. Elderly couples sitting on a bench, still holding hands.
Freedom.
To experience the wonders and joys of
the world. To live each day to its fullest. To simply be.
Freedom.
For me, a place where I could seek
peace. Try to fight the noise. The static. The angry voices in my
head.
Freedom.
Something I stole from too many people.
Innocent people.
Freedom.
A liberty that—because of the violent
nature of my crime—the state said I should never again experience.
Ever.
Freedom.
Something I had never known in the
nineteen desperate years of my life. But when the cocktail of
pentothal, bromide, and potassium chloride began flowing into my
vein, I found.
At last.
Freedom.
Please share your thoughts on "Freedom."
